The really troubling thing is how they never had a whiff it was coming. I mean, not one thing. Reminds me of 9/11 which there were real whiffs and they were also ignored. Why? it has never been explained and we can probably guess why.
You would think US intel should have been aware too about what could be about to happen there. Hell, they know when Trump supporters take a pee.
Remember the Boston marathon bombing? Russian intel warned the US about those brothers way in advance.

It would surprise me a bit if all US intelligence assets were focused on providing Russian targets for the Ukrainians, especially considering their relatively close geographically.
Another consideration that leads me to that conclusion is the way that poor Asian countries cannot even have an economic conference without the US crashing-in at the meeting and DEMANDING that they all agree to a statement condemning Russia over Ukraine - it’s really poisoned our relationships there, and even if they ever did get that kind of statement, what would be the point of it?
Of course the obvious possibility is that they saw what was happening and chose to look the other way, as likely they did during the US summer protests in 2020, and regarding the atrocities committed by Ukraine and many other countries in other theaters.
