LOVE Gilmour, but it’s kinda sad how many lightyears away from being able to sing Run Like Hell he is. Also, I am SO disillusioned! I mistook the solo from 4:38 to 5:11 as being a guitar solo.
I mean come on, the guy’s about 80.
How strange it is to consider the Echoes performance in Pompeii from 1971(ish) to the 2016 concert. In 1971, Floyd was an experimental band playing in an archeological dig with no backup players, no crazy sound equipment, no fans... In 2016, Pompeii looked like an Olympic Stadium, and Pink Floyd was giving an insanely well-produced, anthem-filled song to a hundred-thousands screaming fans!
(By the way, I like Echoes, but I HATE the Pompeii version. It’s like they’re playing the notes, but can’t create the sound.)
I know... that’s what’s so sad!

Could’ve been worse. He could’ve performed The Final Cut.
PF was set to do what would eventually become “The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking”.
Then came The Falklands War, and of course Roger just had to drop that to attack Thatcher again. She was one of the “Pigs” on Pigs (Three Different Ones).
By “PF,” you mean Roger Waters. Wright was already out, Gilmour was already fuming at his lack of involvement in the creative process. The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking was also terrible.
Ah ha! My bad!
