If the Climate Changelings knew what the hell they were doing, they’d realize the best place for a “wind farm” is up on Capitol Hill.

Everybody should invoke the “Ted Kennedy exemption” when protesting offshore wind farms.

"Eventually, the offshore-wind industry will collapse."

Just like the on-shore wind industry...

"...offshore wind faces cost increases in orders of magnitude.” -- Ørsted CEO Mads Nipper

Allow me to be pedantic. He said plural "Orders" which means more than one. So the minimum cost increase would be 100X, but could be 1,000X

Do you really want a CEO who doesn't know what an order of magnitude is?

Ordinary people can be excused for misusing "decimate," but a CEO talking loosely like that does not instill confidence. The only confidence I'm sensing here is that he is a confidence man.

/pedantic

As is often said, and quoted, “Everything the left does turns to sh*t.”

it was “inevitable” that consumers would need to pay more for renewable energy, since offshore wind “faces cost increases in orders of magnitude.”

So let's don't use it.

Boondoggle: a wasteful or impractical project or activity often involving graft

The project is a complete boondoggle—over budget, behind schedule, and unnecessary.

Too many leftist and environmentalists would have us believe "renewable" energy is essentially free.
It is not. It is in fact more expensive than coal, gas, oil or nuclear.
Plus it's not reliable.
And not particularly green either, when you factor in everything it takes during manufacturing, infrastructure, maintenance and disposal.

I say, no more tax payer money should be spent on wind or solar projects.
If someone is able to raise private funds to build something that's economically sound and competitive, then good for them.

Dominion Energy is bankrupting the company with off-shore wind and cornfield solar. Stock has gone from 89 to 39 and back to 42. Dividend has been cut by 1/3rd. 176 14.7-megawatt Siemens Gamesa turbines to be installed 15 miles out into the Atlantic. Cost $9.8 billion for 2.6 Gigawatts when the wind blows. And it may last 20 years. For the same cost you get 1 Gig from nuclear 24 hours a day for 75 years. The four Virginia plants have been running about 50 years.

MADNESS
