Yes, DeSantis is correct. And so we should rally around the only person with this view who can actually win in 2024.
That person is not Ron DeSantis - he has no chance to take the GOP nomination. That person is Donald Trump.
Don’t get me wrong! I’m not a Trump fanatic. I see his many flaws. And he’s not my first choice for 2024. I’d rather see Rand Paul lead the party into the future.
But I’m also a realist. In the GOP primaries Trump is way ahead, everywhere. So barring some wild off-the-wall event, he is going to be our 2024 GOP nominee.
So it’s time to put our differences aside, and get behind our presumptive nominee.
I am not going to vote for Trump just because he is ahead in the polls. I am going to vote for the candidate who would be the best president in these times. The one who is able to articulate solutions to the issues of the day with knowledge and foresight. That is certainly not Trump. This “get behind the guy in the lead even though he’s an egomaniac and a fool” is not a good argument.
