Over 70 Families Say They Lost Their Children to False Munchausen by Proxy Allegations Levied by One Doctor

Lehigh County, Pa., is on fire right now with the outrage of at least 70 families who are on a mission to have Dr. Debra Esernio-Jenssen, a “child abuse pediatrician,” fired from Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) and hopefully brought up on criminal charges. The families allege that Dr. Jenssen diagnosed all of them with the controversial “Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy” and accused them of child abuse when they brought their children into LVHN for various reasons.

[snip]

Speaker after speaker told their horror tales of Dr. Debra Jenssen and her obsession with the rare (and possibly bogus) disorder. Local news found several lawsuits against Dr. Jenssen. In all the cases, Jenssen was the only doctor who believed that the children were abused. Other doctors diagnosed them with rare defects or syndromes. Sadly, despite these findings, families were separated and horribly traumatized and bankrupted while they fought the false allegations.

Wow! This is an almost unbelievable story! Look at the number of lives she has ruined with her allegations of abuse.

Men and Women (but especially women) with double-barreled surnames always deserve just an extra moment of scrutiny.

Perhaps it will stop when suing these hospitals and child protective offices becomes more lucrative than taking kids from parents. The insidious part about it is that once the hospital takes custody of a child it asks the parents to sign a “care plan” and in that plan is a release of liability for the hospital. If the parents sign it, there is no legal remedy for them even if the hospital kills their kid.

What we have witnessed since COVID-19 is the complete authoritarian takeover of every institution but none more so than the medical industry. If you aren’t scared yet, you should be.

Between Covid lies, transition clinics for children, and this story, "Doctors" have lost most of their credibility.

It sounds to me like this doctor was on the right path ... False claims of rare defects or syndromes is the hallmark of MBPS and the problem in my experience and dealings in such regards is most doctors, nurses, educators, etc, do not have training to recognize the telltale signs (many common across MBPS cases) and thus just go ahead and "diagnose" rare defects or syndromes based on nothing more than caregiver claims.

This seems to be a popular thing in Pennsylvania, taking children away from parents. That’s where the judge ran a racket sending kids to the local for-profit juvenile jail.

Jenssen did this to families in three different states. She worked in New York until the lawsuits began and then made her way to Florida, where there were several complaints found against her. She was eventually assigned to a position that was not in “child protection” because of it. She then moved to Pennsylvania and got a job on the “child protection” team at the Lehigh Valley Health Network, where the community is revolting against her.

No. The doctor diagnosed a very rare disease in 70 of her patients which I am sure is way, way above the average for a single doctor.

The other doctors showed there were underlying diseases instead. She ruined many lives with her diagnoses.

If 1 doctor in 1 town in Pennsylvania has given over 70 diagnosis of Munchausen by Proxy (unless the kids were brainwashed to be opposite sex and wanted hormones and the different surgeries), then the doctor is sick in the head.

LVHN doctor at center of medical child abuse debate replaced as protests continue
https://www.lehighvalleynews.com/northampton-county/doctor-at-center-of-medical-child-abuse-debate-replaced-at-lehigh-valley-hospital-network-as-protests-continue
EASTON, Pa. — A doctor at the center of protests regarding diagnoses of medical child abuse has been removed as head of Lehigh Valley Health Network’s child advocacy center, it was revealed Thursday.

Dr. Debra Esernio-Jenssen, former leader of Lehigh Valley Health Network’s John Van Brakle Child Advocacy Center, officially was replaced this month by Dr. Sarah Kleinle, according to a statement.

The LVHN statement said Esernio-Jenssen was replaced after “a nearly year-long national search.” Jenssen will continue to practice part time at other LVHN locations, the health system said.

her obsession with the rare (and possibly bogus) disorder.

Munchausen by Proxy used to be rare, but it is not a bogus phenomenon—just look at the thousands of parents advocating for their underage children to undergo medical sex transition.

That said, it does sound like the doctor in the OP is indeed a quack nutjob with an ax to grind, or a thirst for unlimited power.
