Out of curiosity, I looked it up. Some states are “stand your ground” states. Others are “duty to retreat” states. California is evidently some mixture of the two, but leaning towards the former.

So, yeah. If the DA doesn’t particularly like the Second Amendment, this lady could be in trouble.

I hate to be a “good shoot” nerd, in my State you can shoot outdoors “within the curtilage” of your home, but probably not in California.

IOW, if she shot through a closed door, she’s going to have a problem, if he got the door open, probably not.
