Release on $0 bond.
NO cash bail just took effect in Illinois, after a long court case against it. The usual suspects were in favor of the no cash bail; do something bad, and home for dinner.
“Release on $0 bond.”
The people releasing “it” are making a political statement. But the message the “person” being released gets is, “They agree 100% with what I’m doing. Therefore, I can go ahead and go all the way and they’ve got my back.” The people doing the releasing haven’t thought this far ahead because they are mired in their politics. The impact to them is that if the “person” goes ahead and does something truly evil that attracts blowback from the polity, us, they’ll be out of a job. Willie Horton was being let out on furlough despite serving a life sentence. This was set up by presidential candidate Michael Dukakis. Horton was murdering people and then returning to prison on Sunday nights. This killed Dukakis’ presidential campaign. And, in my opinion, Dukakis should have been tried as an assessory as the murders could not have taken place without him. But...Democrat. What else can I say?
