Maybe that’s what made the Mad Hatter go mad.
Mercury poisoning made the Mad Hatter go mad.
Mercury was used in beaver pelt processing for hat making.
I worked with a person overseas who vaped Chinese brands. I was told the vape liquid had heavy metals in it, including mercury.
The guy was a spitting image of the Mad Hatter. His typical pose for dialogue was facing away at at least 30 degrees, left hand on left hip, elbow out. Right elbow resting on right hip facing forward with palm upwards. Head cocked fifty+ degrees upward, talking to the ceiling. It quite was bizarre. I told a co-worker in the States and he looked it up and came back with the Chinese brands having heavy metals in them.
I can tell you that in my opinion Lewis Carroll was not exaggerating the Mad Hatter character.
Heh, had to look that one up. It’s been a *long time* since reading that.
