Perhaps. But he may not last long in China anyway with their domestic market putting out much cheaper electric cars. However, Musk has opened Twitter up to people such as Tucker Carlson. He purportedly wants it to be a free and open public square. He’s also offered content creators 100% of their ad revenues for a year (minus Apple fees). So whether and how he is able to walk that balance will be interesting to see unfold. Musk also wants to take on Apple and Google in various areas - he rebranded X because he wants it to be an all-purpose social media search payments content platform, not just a place for snarky comments from bitter people.

Musk seems ‘reasonable’ only compared to the last generation of tycoons like Gates, Larry Ellison, and current Bezos.

He’s still shadow banning people on Twitter over more or less nothing. It’s not as bad as with Dorsey and the actual feds running it, but it’s not really that great either.

“Tesla’s made-in-Shanghai vehicles remain well received by mainland Chinese and foreign customers.” The factory, located in the city’s Lingang free-trade zone and also known as Giga Shanghai, churned out 710,000 vehicles last year, more than half of the company’s total output of 1.31 million units.
