Exactly.

“Stage Two” starts the slippery slope to apostasy.

You are what you “tolerate”.

800 voting members is “massive”?

Yes, considering most modern UMC congregation’s number a few dozen.

I gave up on the United Methodist Church over 30 years ago.

Even St. Padre Pio admitted that the little old ladies in his parish drove him absolutely mad.

The LAST thing they need is a collar and a microphone!

I never heard of that padre. But Dad was a preacher for 50 years, and many of the women were quite the stirrer-uppers.

OTOH, some were the most godly wonderful people on earth. Even though they didn’t preach, they provided great stability to the churches behind the scenes. Selfless, helpful, and loving.

This is typically the case, that the congregations leaving the Untied Methodist Church are the largest 10% of those in the denomination. So, the number of churches leaving skews the true picture. Look at is from the MEMBERS leaving and you see a much more dramatic exodus.

Everybody's got a job to do - it's the ones who are resentful and think they're being "kept down" that are the problem.

Bloom where you're planted. Brighten the corner where you are. It's not difficult.
