Manila said on Monday (Oct 23) that Chinese vessels "intentionally hit" Philippine boats at the weekend, escalating a diplomatic row over two collisions in the South China Sea.
The countries have traded blame over Sunday's incidents near Second Thomas Shoal in the Spratly Islands, with both sides filing diplomatic protests and releasing videos to support their accusations.
The two collisions happened during a Philippine resupply mission to troops stationed on a navy vessel that was grounded on the shoal in 1999 to assert Manila's territorial claims.

If Iran gets into it in the Middle East to create a second front against Israel and widen the conflict, and simultaneously China gets into it in the Pacific, those two carrier groups presently in the Med might be needed elsewhere. I don’t think so. But I don’t think that if China wants war, they will keep it small. Taiwan might be at risk, and also Japan and South Korea. California and Alaska, even.
The new Philippine pressident started out seeming to look for peaceful relations with the CCP, but has learned the CCP treats that like appeasement and expects to get away with bullying the Philippines over disputed claims in the seas, claims concerning islands and atolls much closer to the Philippines than China.
Biden will send them 44 billion dollars to China and also the Phillipines, and like Magic will disappear.
How will they fight back? Their Air Force planes are so antiquated they use the old bras of Imelda Marcos for skycaps.
