I concur that some single military-aged males could be a problem, but would expect those to be primarily from the Mideast, north Africa or China, not from Mexico or farther south.

I understand if they are genuinely here looking for jobs and lied about seeking asylum but we have a legal entry system. I have zero respect for anyone who came here looking for handouts or to take jobs. I do have respect for those here legally who want to work. It seems like a lot of Americans won’t or don’t want to do jobs that actually make them sweat. Hispanics have a leg up in their ability to work all day in the hot sun and their willingness to show up. A lot of Americans have gotten fat and lazy expecting the government to provide for them.

Also, back to the invader/immigrant threat from south of the border, it is certainly possible that cartel representatives have come across with malevolent actions in mind. These typically would be directed at law enforcement or other cartels, not so much mass casualty against the general population.

I would not think that MacGregor’s failure to gain command of a brigade would be appropriate to be noted in his book.
There can be reasonable disagreement about Army force size in OIF and follow-on operations. MacGregor could address those issues in detail in a book at some point.
