Isn’t testimony as to what Trump said called hearsay? Is hearsay allowed as evidence in a trial?

Testimony about statements made by a party to an action aren’t considered to be hearsay.

One can testify as to what they heard someone say. That isn’t hearsay. It’s not direct proof, but it can be considered circumstantial evidence.

The key to understanding the hearsay rule is that there are numerous exceptions. Here, the testimony is admissible.
