Except it has already happened several times now. And everyone knew these candidates were black when they cast their votes.
The recent past also tells us that isn’t the case. Everyone knew Daniel Cameron was black when they voted for him in two primaries and in the general election against Greg Stumbo...Stumbo himself made sure everyone knew he was black by running attack ads wherein the video was entirely Daniel Cameron’s own b-roll footage - and Cameron handily won even counties like Pike County - which was indeed at one time racist (becoming less racist as it became more Republican and less Democrat, I’ll add, like many of these eastern Kentucky counties). Bevin did not hide Jenean Hampton from his ads in 2015 (nor his adopted children) and she was elected. Ralph Alvarado was elected a state Senator, and also we have the most recent example of state Senator Donald Douglas. Mitch McConnell himself has been in a mixed race marriage quite prominently for decades...doesn’t seem to have harmed him. So it just doesn’t fly that all of a sudden Kentucky isn’t ready to vote for someone because they are black. We’ve gone well past that - assuming that was ever truly at thing.
Tim Scott has been getting elected in South Carolina for how long and other southern states (more southern than even Kentucky) electing black politicians to office as well? Again, I think it may just be people here who don’t like the fact he is black trying to project onto others.
I don't believe that to be the case. They are just trying to find a reason for Cameron's impending loss. I think they are wrong, but I'm not reading that into it.
Tennessee is about as red as you can get. Maybe Oklahoma is redder.
Oh, it’s not a significant amount...but there are some here. And history doesn’t support what they claimed, as outlined above.
If Cameron loses it is because he had very little money. Beshear never had to answer for his ultra-left positions and doing things like posing for pictures with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. There is no way this election would have been close if he had been put on the defensive about that and other things he has done. Instead we have ads basically portraying Cameron as a supporter of child rape, etc. without being able to respond. Cameron may still pull this off, but it will be much closer than it had to be. Beshear should have been able to be crushed. Why our side is not organized to be able to raise enough resources for our candidates to wage a full campaign is beyond me. The Left has no trouble raising tens of millions and even hudreds of millions of dollars from small grassroots donations.
The RGA affiliated group is sending out robocalls now with this recording.
