DeSantis is like that guy who got friendzoned but still thinks, years later, that if he just makes a complete fool of himself over this girl, eventually she is going to realize she loves him.
It is remarks like “they will come to their senses” is precisely what is one of the big things wrong with DeSantis.
He can’t see that people do not like him and the way he acts like the problem is the voters and not himself.
