MANCHESTER, N.H. – Democratic Rep. Dean Phillips - who's primary challenging President Biden - is pushing back against criticism from Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina that he's being disrespectful to Black voters.
And the moderate three-term congressman from Minnesota who launched his 2024 White House run last week charged - as he answered a question from Fox News Digital - that those who are attacking him are fueling a "political conversation that's dividing the country right now."

You’re right.
Here’s a good Heritage Foundation summary.
In August 2020, Biden told a gathering of black and Hispanic journalists that “unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.”
Taken together, these statements clearly suggest that Biden believes all black people think alike.
In the same interview, responding to a question on whether he had taken a cognitive test, Biden angrily fired back with the suggestion that the black reporter was a drug addict.
“That’s like saying you . . . before you got in this program, you’re take [sic] a test whether you’re taking cocaine or not,” Biden said. “What do you think? Huh? Are you a junkie?”
But Biden has been getting away with this for years.
In 2010, he warmly eulogized Sen. Robert Byrd, a former Exalted Cyclops in the Ku Klux Klan, saying he was “one of my mentors” and that “the Senate is a lesser place for his going.”

Clyburn’s Race Card has hit its expiration date.
Did anyone on his campaign say that where blacks are is a jungle?
SC is 25% or more black, far more than the national average.
This is the source of Clyburn’s political clout. However, blacks in SC, unlike urban blacks, are middle class, Christian and own property. Eugene McCarthy nearly beat LBJ in NH in 1968. This is what Biden and Clyburn are trying to avoid.
Democratic Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota, is mounting a long-shot primary challenge against the president, recently said for the first time that he would consider accepting No Labels’ nomination if the election becomes a rematch between Biden and former President Donald Trump and it looked like Biden was “almost certain to lose.”
That’s a reversal for Phillips, who had said that if he loses in the Democratic primary, he would support Biden.
No Labels is a group that is fielding a possible bipartisan “unity” third-party ticket.
While Fulks said Sunday that third-party groups do not pose a major risk of spoiling Biden’s campaign, Biden himself said last fall that the group would “help the other guy,” in reference to Trump.
No Labels officials have insisted they don’t want to run a ticket merely to hurt Biden over Trump.
