WASHINGTON – Senior members of the Senate Judiciary Committee Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and John Cornyn (R-Texas), along with 24 Senate Republican colleagues, introduced legislation to ensure the American people have a full accounting of the number of migrants being released into the United States by the Biden administration. The Southern Border Transparency Act would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to accurately report how it is handling migrants encountered at the border, along with providing information detailing the migrants’ places of origin. The legislation follows a letter last week in which Grassley raised concerns about federal agencies’ usage of a mobile application to parole thousands of otherwise inadmissible aliens into the U.S. without proper vetting
“Turn on the TV, flip open the newspaper or simply stop to talk to a local law enforcement officer and you’ll hear a similar story: the border is in a state of chaos. Despite the crisis unfolding in front of our very eyes, the Biden administration is hiding the full facts about the border from the American people,” Grassley said. “Our legislation would shed much-needed daylight on border statistics so that Congress and the American people can more fully understand the scale of Biden’s border crisis.”
“The Biden administration has gone to great lengths to hide record levels of illegal immigration at the southern border, but Americans deserve to know exactly how many migrants are being released into our country,” Cornyn said. “This legislation would shine a bright light on President Biden’s catch-and-release practices and reveal the devastating consequences of this administration’s unlawful actions.”

I haven’t voted for Cornyn the last two cycles. He’s a demorat in repuglican clothing. Screw him. He just goes where the wind blows and mostly to the west.

How about making it public without a law, and just ask DHS Director? If the director can’t or won’t tell you, arrest him and fire him.
The Republicans can introduce bills until they are blue in the face; it won’t do a bit of good.
It is time for the Republicans to go public, do their Congressional version of protest and civil disturbance.
Do the Republicans actually think that proffering a bill that will never pass the Senate will change anything? Do they consider such vain attempts fulfilling their office?

Wanted to fire Mayorkas for a long time, but Biden doesn’t want to. But even if he died, do you think Canegallo would be any better?
Why not make it illegal and impeach Biden and/or end funding for his projects when he fails to follow the law.
If the GOP had a senate majority, Grassley might be chairman of some powerful oversight committee. But GA republicans boycotted the GA senate races, so now we have Ossoff and Warnock.

Don’t have the senate votes to remove Biden from office. Kamala would hardly be an improvement anyway. To withhold funding, we need a responsible congress, and we don’t have that either.

Even if we had a MAGA (not “republican”) majority in the senate it would not be enough to remove Biden from office. Trump was not removed from office via impeachment either (ballot fraud).
It’s not about the end result of Biden/Kamala. It’s showing the public you are doing all you can about securing that border.
So what? Impeachment is a process. It is a stain that an ego guy like Bite ME will not be able to handle. It would break him, probably in public and all will see what POS he really is.
How about passing a law to make catch and release a felony!!!!!
