WASHINGTON — U.S. and European officials have begun quietly talking to the Ukrainian government about what possible peace negotiations with Russia might entail to end the war, according to one current senior U.S. official and one former senior U.S. official familiar with the discussions.
The conversations have included very broad outlines of what Ukraine might need to give up to reach a deal, the officials said. Some of the talks, which officials described as delicate, took place last month during a meeting of representatives from more than 50 nations supporting Ukraine, including NATO members, known as the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, the officials said.
I would be all for ending the war in Ukraine thru negotiations, I wonder what leverage Ukraine would have to get Russia to negotiate, other than accept most of what Russia demands.
They will just push for us to nuke Tehran.

Go to a cease fire...put in a line just like we/they did in Korea...and stop the senseless killing. But “Z” is obsessed with killing any and all Russians in Ukraine.....despite the fact that the majority of the population has Russian ties.

I hope this is the administration leaking this to prepare their backers for the push by the US to get Zelensky to negotiate and cut his losses... and cut our monetary losses as well on this war that Biden opted to extend
Funny how anyone listening to alternative news sources knew for a long time that the war was lost for Ukraine.
At this point, there is little incentive for Russia to accept a cease fire. The minute they do, and a DMZ is drawn, NATO will flood in and they will start rehabbing the Uke military.
Russia only has to look at Minsk and Minsk Ii to know a settlement is a fake.
Will this negotiation include turning off sanctions, repairing and opening Nordstream? Returning seized bank assets? No of course not…
This is exactly like Gaza screaming for a cease fire when they are losing.
I think TPTB have realized that their graft and kick back opportunities from the war in Ukraine have run their course. Now it’s time for a negotiated settlement. Then start the graft and kick back opportunities from the effort to rebuild Ukraine.
The problem is they have given Russia utterly no incentive to settle for anything less than a full restoration of Russia’s pre 1918 borders with Ukraine. That would mean Kharkov and Odessa and the entire Black Sea Coast.
The alternative is Russia just wait a little longer until Ukraine completely runs out of men. They’re not too far from that now. Then they can just take whatever they want.
But But But....Denis Davydav assured me over and over again every single day on this forum that the Ukes were winning.

Them “broaching” the subject means nothing.
They used Ukraine as a direct proxy for 10 years to attempt to diminish and split Russia.
This will end on Russia’s terms.
