I’ve got a smart meter. They just came out and changed it one day...no asking, no warning. I didn’t know it put out RMF. (Maybe that’s what’s wrong with my neighbor on that side if the house.)
Seriously...I’m going to consider a Faraday cage.
I can’t wait for the day they fly a drone to inspect the meter after two or three more meters fail (if the cage is the cause). They use drones to inspect the power lines already.
The anticipated dialog;
FPL: yeah, you have to remove the cage.
Me: why?
FLP: because we monitor your use daily
Me: how often am I billed for a meter reading?
FPL: monthly
Me: so you only need to read the meter once each month for this. Anything else is an unwarranted search of my home an an unwarranted spying on my behavior and completely unrelated to billing. Do you have a fully executed warrant to spy on me? If so, forward it to me.

If they come back with “you can’t attach anything to the meter”, I’ll build the cage bigger and with higher EMF shielding, on the side of my house, not touching the meter. They can’t tell me what I do with my home.
