Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that people in Gaza could end Israel's invasion sooner by killing Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar themselves.
"The Hamas leadership is responsible. We will get to that leadership," Gallat said in a press conference, per The Times of Israel.
"We will get to Yahya Sinwar and eliminate him. If the residents of Gaza get there ahead of us, that will shorten the war."
Sinwar, who helped found Hamas' security apparatus, was elected to be the group's leader in the Gaza Strip in 2017. He has been described as a hardliner who rejects any reconciliation with Israel.
Before taking on his role as Hamas leader, Sinwar spent over two decades in an Israeli prison for the murder of two Israeli soldiers and Palestinians he viewed as collaborators. He was released in a prisoner swap.
In the press conference, Gallant said that the ground invasion of Gaza was "progressing well" and that 12 Hamas battalion commanders have been killed.

One of the Hamas leaders Israel said it killed was Mustafa Dalul, the commander of the Sabra Tel al-Hawa Battalion. He played a key role in leading the fight against Israeli troops in Gaza, Israel's Defense Forces said.
Gallant said that Israeli forces were engaged in heavy battles with Hamas fighters in both the north and south of Gaza.
He pledged that at the end of the war "there will be no more Hamas in Gaza. There will be no more security threat from Gaza on Israel."
"And Israel will have absolute freedom to take whatever security action it seeks against anyone who raises his head in Gaza [to threaten Israel]," he said, per The Times of Israel.

Why doesn’t Israel NEGOTIATE with Hamas? After all, perhaps Israel can cut a deal where only half of the 7 million Jews there are sent to the ovens? This will allow Israel to survive and take the pressure off of building more settlements.

I had an 80 yo friend in 2008 who told me a story his grandmother told him when he was a child. She was 4 yrs old in 1965 playing on the foot of the bed where her grandfather was resting with an illness. A group of yankees came in guns drawn, and he pleaded with them not to kill him in front of his granddaughter. They did kill him and she never forgot it. Who is Hamas now? They're us.
Eventually the Holocaust 2.0 Bunch in the West and in Arab states will figure out that Israel is going to put an end to its Hamas problem much like Russia is in the process of putting an end to its Ukraine problem - which, in both cases, is a slow methodical, but thorough, elimination of the threat, and literally listening to NO ONE, including the United States (regarding Israel) giving unsolicited ‘advice’...they are both in the process of taking care of the trash, they way THEY feel is most effective, and could care less what the ‘world community’ thinks or says.

I don’t truly believe Sherman saw raping and did nothing about it. Never heard that in the biographies I read of him. He stopped a soldier assaulting a woman on one occasion and he despised people that used violence against women.
The Romans used to kill Emperors who wanted to get them into wars they didn’t want.
Why would they do that, when they all support Hamas, or even those more radical than Hamas?

The problem with taking up the offer though is that anyone who does kill the leader will become an Instant target of hamas- they znd their whole immediate and extended family. There’s gotta be a huge reward for Incentive- not even sure 1 million would be enough.

Correct. It goes back to the question; what or who is a combat? Is it just the tip of the spear? Or, if not, how much further down the spear does it go? I would say in this instance it goes all the way down the shaft.
