Israel-Gaza War: Protests outside Israeli PM Netanyahu's residence, demands for 'bring hostages home now' grow louder

In Israel, protesters gathered in large numbers outside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence on November 4. In view of failures of the government to address the situation, that led to previous month's deadly attack by Hamas gunmen on communities around the Gaza Strip, protestors raised slogans in front of Netanyahu's house, reported Reuters.

Hundreds of Hamas gunmen stormed into southern Israel on October 7, killed over 1,400 people and took more than 240 hostage. Israeli PM Netanyahu has not accepted personal responsibility so far for the failures of the government under whose reign such surprise assault took place.

Netanyahu’s Likud Party governed with a 35% mandate when Bibi was the stalwart hero protector of Israel. That was BEFORE he was caught comatose asleep at the wheel when “hundreds” of uneducated irregular fighters on motorcycles and hang gliders administered the most stunning defeat of the Israeli military in its history. This was no bolt from the blue, Day of Infamy, sneak attack. Everyone knew they were there, as always, attacking in any way they could manage. What will Netanyahu’s numbers look like after this ends? At minimum, assuming Netanyahu does level and occupy Gaza, there will be thousands more Israeli casualties. Why is this guy qualified to be Washington’s Svengali regarding our relations with a fellow NATO member, the UN, the Arab, no entire Muslim world, Ukraine and I’m told a revanchist Soviet Union? I don’t get it.

The crowds against Netanyahu want Israel to stand down, demilitarize, reach out to make a multi-cultural friendship mission for more Muslim rights in Israel (where Muslims already can own businesses, worship and win legislative seats in the Knesset as over 100 of them have since 1948). Very similar to Bernie Sanders, Dems, BLM, Democratic Socialists and Communists within the US.

Netanyahu's numbers are no more important that Trump's. There will be plenty of blame to go around, but the only thing that counts now is winning this war by Hamas and their supporters against Israel and the civilized world.

As someone who followed his brother's bravery in the Entebbe rescue, I note Bibi's military service as well.

Returning to Israel in 1967, Mr. Netanyahu enlisted in the IDF and served in an elite unit of the Israeli army, Sayeret Matkal. He took part in several operations, including the rescue of hostages in a hijacked Sabena airplane in 1972. In the same year, he was cited for outstanding operational command by General Mordechai Gur, Chief of Israel's Northern Command. After his discharge from the IDF in 1972, Mr. Netanyahu served in the Yom Kippur War of 1973 and was promoted after the war to the rank of captain in the Reserves.

1400 dead Israelis, 10,000 dead Palestinians, Sunni and Shiite united, 800 million enraged Muslims, your hero, Zelensky, stabbed in the back, your predicted worst fear, a reconstituted Soviet Union about to run amuck, all of this and more because your new hero totally F’d it up.
