Violence is not just an Islamic thing it’s a human trait.
You can find plenty of violence in the history of any culture when it’s faced with a foe. And it applies to individuals as well.
It usually starts when someone wants what you have and think they can take it by force. And the other side either submits or fights back. Hence more violence.
It’s really that simple... and it’s been like that forever.

Not entirely because it glosses over the fact that Jihad against all non Muslims is at the heart of Islam. Islam is in a state of war at all times with all non Muslims.
The West has a hard time grasping this fact because it fundamentally at odds with how our modern societies are organized and governed
