It is entirely plausible that Axelrod is only saying this because Obama has communicated his displeasure with the intensity that Joe Biden is applying to the job. Joe had little enough judgment on a good day, and all those are in the rear-view mirror.

Agreed, why would he even broach the subject? Normally we take for granted, that an incumbent president will run for reelection. It makes you wonder why anyone on the Democrat side would suggest Joe might not run for reelection.
