Less than a mile down the same street is the only Chick-Fil-a franchise around. The cars are almost always backed up in a double line around the building. They have people outside taking orders to expedite the process.
I see photos and ads for whoppers the ketchup onions and lettuce hang over the edge of the bun. But when I go there strangely the bun is all I see around the edges.
Same with my former fav Famous Star at Carls Jr. There was a time CJ bought the best quality meat from the supplier.
We have two in and Outs nearby whether you think they are best or not, they are fresh and their employees have triple digit IQs.
My small town of 12,000 has a McDonalds, Burger King and Carl’s Jr. All are well run and have good food.
Thanks...I lose track sometimes...
Burger Kings are among the worst air polluters but got an exception for their emissions
Burger King seems to do well in small towns, but fast food chains in big cities have to deal with high rent, shortage or low quality labor. 8% to 10% profit over cost is getting hard to achieve in big cities. When the general manager is making more then the owner, it time to close or sell the franchise.
BK and MickeyD’s need to stick with what got them where they are burgers, fries and shakes and slim down their menus. Then concentrate on quality of service across the board and enforce those criteria on the locations and punish those who don’t measure up.
There are two MickeyD’s in our town and one is so bad I won’t even consider it if we should dare to want McDonalds, it’s just awful, employees, management, franchise owners could care less. Unfortunately my office number is one digit off from this MickeyD’s phone number and when their receipt printer’s ink gets near empty I know because I start getting calls and complaints and I mean lots of them!
When I answer my phone with my company name they ignore it and launch into tirades about their order being screwed up with me saying this isn’t MickeyD’s and they still argue it is and start again. I had one old lady call me three days straight that her order has been messed up all three days, me telling her this isn’t MickeyD’s and her not having it.
It got to be a running joke in my department and the last time she called several other co-workers were in my office and I put it on speaker, answered normally, she launched again, ranting and raving, cursing and fighting with her her mom on the phone in the process of talking to me and I explained this wasn’t MickeyD’s and she continued. Finally I said dear what is your name and she told me and I said I am going to help you. You go to MickeyD’s when you are back out and tell them you talked to me, I’m the manager or the entire store and I’ll make sure you get your money back and free meals for a couple of days, will that satisfy you? Oh yes! I said now you be sure and ask for the store manager, not the shift manager okay dear. Yes, yes, thank you! My co-workers had to leave my office to bust out laughing at this old bag, cursing me, MickeyD’s and her mom sitting in the car with her. I dread the low ink in the printer times...
I’d be happy if they made the whopper the way they did in the 80’s. Now it’s a dry eatable sandwich.
Doesn’t seem to bother voters in the least.
thats dollar tree and family dollar. ,#1.25
Looks like the new owner is “DC Burger”.
OMG, that is a great story and funny as well.
Your response to it was Golden!
Yes an important point.
Who is suffering?
Dems are the party of rich elites, suburban white women yuppies, minorities that are poor or work in affirmative action jobs. AND the large poor welfare class.
Repubs are the party of working poor, middle class and some rich.
We are the ones hurting, the Dems are either on the government dole and don’t care or well off/wealthy and don’t care.
“Maybe it’s a regional thing. One thing I do notice: McDonald’s hires mostly Hispanics; Burger King hires mostly Blacks. Until coronavirus, it was extremely rare to find an English-fluent McDonald’s worker.”
Yes, it’s a regional thing and a franchise thing because none of what you said is true here.
Shame they are more generous and better than McDonalds.
Same experience here in Florida. Even before the pandemic BK was one of the slowest drive thru or even in store service. Didn’t matter which one I went to they were notorious slow.
