Total persuasion that the only way to “do politics” is with big money totals that go to campaign staff, and if you ever dig even just a little bit deep, you’ll find the “internal pollsters” are friends or relatives of the campaign manager. Pollsters get enormous paychecks because, of course, there is no regulated output.
They can do almost nothing and get paid. The campaign manager has to actually have people make some hotel reservations and be sure vehicles are fueled up to earn his $800,000 paycheck.
