West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin, who is known as a moderate Democrat, has announced his decision to step down from the Senate at the end of his current term. He said he wants to travel the country, and find ways to mobilize the middle class and bring Americans together. It is unclear if he is planning for a White House run.

Who knows? He may be the Heir Apparent if Biden is forced to admit he is not capable of a second term. Many Dems would prefer throwing donor money at someone like Manchin, vs Wacko-Bird aka Gavin Newsome. Gavin has pushed some highly radical agendas over the last 15 years. Thr most recent being to declare California a Trans Sanctuary State , minor children included!

Just throwing this out there as speculation:
Possible running mate for DJT?

“...he wants to travel the country, and find ways to mobilize the middle class and bring Americans together.”
Umm, isn’t he leaving a job that he could have actually done some of that? (In theory at least).

He’s 76. Maybe he has had enough feeding at the trough.
To: crusty old prospector
I agree with you. At 76 it's time for Manchin to kick back and enjoy the grift accumulated over the years.

That would be quite shocking, heads exploding on both sides of the aisle. But, actually, such a move would do wonders to help bring our country back together. Not for all, of course, but for quite a few.

That seat will flip GOP but none of the other ones will.
What does it matter though? McConnell is pro Ukraine spending, pro deep state, pro everything the lunatics are for.

Why rule it out? Biden drops out, Manchin steps in sounds reasonable, sounds moderate. I can see the sales pitch: Are you a middle of the road/moderate RINO or Rat? “Do you think Old Joe messed up the economy, hates guns and left the border wide open. Does Trump annoy you? Joe Manchin is the new Joe, loves guns, common sense economics, Joe likes to give reach around across the isle and believes in God and Momma, vote JM for President.”
Why not? Manchin is folksy he comes across as reasonable and seem like a regular Joe. In the wings behind Biden is Cackling Kamala and the greasy, slimy Gavin Annoysome. Manchin is a good alternative if Biden drops out.

West Virginia (just across the Ohio from me) is getting redder. The War on Coal already flipped Ohio District 6, where I live.
To: Eccl 10:2
No. DJT doesn’t need douches as a running mate. Manchin would be an even worse back stabber than pence, or his two AG idiots
