Jason Kruse started grassroots campaign to recall township board after resident's concerns were ignored
A Michigan man says democracy is "still there" after his small town ousted its entire local government for approving a Chinese-linked green energy project.
"Everybody out there across America needs to step back and understand that you have the power. It's still there," Jason Kruse, Green Charter Township’s newly elected supervisor told Fox News. "Government works and your vote matters – for sure at the local level – and it's super important."
"We really need to be reminded about that every so often, that public officials work for the public," he added. "It's very nice to see that we can add to that understanding."

They’re going to have the FBI call them domestic terrorists.
I can’t find if they killed the Gotion deal or not, so maybe we’ll find out later.
They have no government. There will be a special election and then we will see what happens.
After two resignations, Green Charter’s remaining five Republican officials were recalled and promptly kicked out of their offices in a Tuesday special election.Red China-loving RINO Unipartiers figured they could push through this Democrat-approved (and approved by them too) project with impunity.
The rural community of 3,219 pushed out its governing board after its members ignored residents’ concerns and approved plans for Chinese battery company Gotion High-tech Co. to build a multibillion-dollar electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant in their area. […]
Plans for the $2.36 billion project were announced last year and received support from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and other Michigan Democrats who touted the 2,300 jobs the plant would create.
Green Charter residents opposed the project, Kruse said, and voiced concerns about building the facility on agricultural land and about the company’s connections to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). …
I’m pretty close to the failed (paused anyway) Ford/Chicom battery plant. Going back a couple years the folks in that township were sold out right under their feet. Nondisclosure agreements (NDA) were made by all kinds of ‘authorities’ in the area without letting the local population be part of the process. The authorities (term used loosely) did not cooperate, meanwhile the residents of the area went to work.
Mind you this area is a bucolic, somewhat rural area that doesn’t need a stinkin’ battery plant - the local residents were not included on a lot of environment stuff, many pure rivers and streams, endless water tables, forests and the like. Most people know of the pollution created by these factories so that got the ball rolling many months ago.
Just so happens (roll eyes) Ford was taking a bath on the EVs’ anyway and a fair chance they were going to ‘postpone’ (close) the project anyway. It was to be located in Calhoun County (next to Hillsdale Co.) as these counties on the bottom of MI and the top of Ohio are rather red, obviously the chicoms did not take that into consideration. No doubt there will be a couple books coming out but one gets the idea, it should also be noted that this disgusting project was only undertaken because the governor of MI, the commie WHitler backed it.
I think this shows that in terms of effective political action, it can only happen at the local, county and maybe State level.
The incentives for politicians are all wrong. IF someone goes from the State Legislature or County Executive to, say, Member of Congress, it would count as a promotion.
But a backbench member of congress, or even the leadership, in either the minority or majority, couldn’t necessarily stop this project.
But the local people did.
That’s exactly right. It also should be noted that MI lost both the state house and the state senate for the first time in decades, this project is a good example of commie uniparty fake GOPe sellouts. People in the surrounding counties have grown tired of these fake republicans that would sell you out in a blink of an eye. Conservatives in fair numbers just quit voting for these sellouts years ago. Sadly this example is the only way to rid ourselves of these sell-out fake republicans.
Here is the member of congress. He opposed this thing, and was trying via Federal legislation to stop this.
Obviously he had and will have no success. If he wants to do something real, he should have stayed in local politics.
The really great thing was after the election results were announced the winners immediately changed the locks on the Board's offices. I hope they find all sorts of incriminating evidence to take down a ton of Leftists and corrupt Republicans that follow along.
“Green Charter Township”
Was this place chosen for it’s name? How “cool” is that? /s
