Perhaps but I work up and down the I-5 & I-90 corridors in Washington State. Last week I started noticing less trucks on the road and many trucking companies lots full of parked tractors. We are certainly in for some interesting times ahead.
Not buying so much imported goods may be a good thing. It hurts them, not us. Our workers got shafted when the factories closed and were offshored. The damege was already done decades ago.
Interesting.......
I travel up I 81 for 200 miles every two weeks. Last Thursday, I felt the presence of extreme truck traffic that was greater than what I took as normal heavy numbers. There are many truck stops and they were all full. The several Virginia rest areas had lots of trucks on the both entries and exits.
My take was that there were more than usual goods being moved up the heavily traveled I 81 corridor. The right lane is all trucks moving at about 65 mph just trudging alone, mile after mile.
Nobody gave a rat’s ass when there were 200+ Union Pacific engines sideline in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Gas prices go up, trains benefit. Go down, trucking benefits.
