According to a Reuters report, two US officials reveal that a US Navy warship shot down a drone that originated in Yemen over the Red Sea.
The unnamed officials tell the news agency that the Thomas Hudner, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, shot down the drone early this morning.
Note that Trump designated the Houthis a terrorist organization. Biden reversed that designation.
Interesting. Israel shot down at least two long-range cruise missiles, launched from Yemen, over the Red Sea earlier today using the Arrow air defense anti-missile system.
We still owe the Yemens for trying to sink the USS Cole. What’s the hold up?

Well, I certainly will be reluctant to spend money on antimissile missiles to protect democrat occupied American cities. The cost is too high.

The Houthis are a Shiite group at war with Al Qaeda, which is Sunni.
We've bombed Yemen for a couple of decades, but Yemen the state wasn't responsible for the bombing, Al Qaeda and the previous Sudanese government was.
(The mastermind of the Cole attack is a Saudi currently sitting in Guantanamo Bay and has been in US custody since 2002).
The Houthis are essentially the Southern Chapter of Hezbollah. They were established based on the Hezbollah framework, and like Hezbollah are armed and largely controlled by the IRGC. IRGC was declared a “Foreign Terrorist Organization” by Trump, as were the Houthis, though Biden removed the Houthis from the FTO list. All three are terrorist groups, and should be treated as such.

When I was in the US Navy back in 1988-1992, I got to do the first R&D testing of UAV-SR’s that ended up becoming the Predator drones. They were simple to find on radar/HFDF/RF/Video... I’m surprised it hasn’t happened more often, frankly.
You could say the US owes Israel for sinking the Liberty.
