As I said to a coworker around 2014 when a cop got killed they used to stand in uniform on the steps by the hundreds in solidarity and vow to find the killer on the loose.
It was because of one City of Detroit case in which a young offender (caught days later) said he had picked out a cop at random to kill “because I needed a gun fast and he had one on him.”
No fear or inhibition at all. Cop had a gun. Cop was killed.
