I learned the hard way though that stuff in your car is what’s lost if it’s stolen.
I got the car back but so what. I never got the photos and papers in the trunk back which meant a lot more to me.

You must be wealthy. Because my car is worth my life, as is the money in my wallet. It is all I have, living on a fixed income, I cannot replace the car, and I can’t replace my money. It makes a difference if you can work to earn more, or you can no longer work. I would kill to protect my money and my car for sure.
