Anyone who has even average intelligence should be able to see that FR has been infiltrated by Russian agents. Just look at the posting here. The same people who harp on about "evil" Ukraine, are the ones here who post about how evil left-wing Jews are destroying America, and are practically slobbering all over Trump.
They are basically caricatures of American conservatives that a nation that doesn't understand nuance, like Russia, would create.
Unfortunately, both the UK and the Ukrainians didn’t see it that way. We’ve done similar ‘treaties’ in the past like that so there was precedence. (Aside: Note I agree none of this is necessarily Constitutional but until its challenged and struck down it stands both internationally and as an ‘accomplishment’ in domestic politics. Remember Congress doesn’t like to work if they can arrange it so some other part of the government makes the decision and takes the heat so much the better for them. Constitutionally require activity takes up too much time from their prancing & preening!) It was very foolish of the Ukrainians to trust their sovereign existence to others particularly when they had the means at hand to guarantee it. Think of South Vietnam we guaranteed their existence. That didn’t work out so well for them!

1. Ukraine never had any option to keep any nuclear weapons. The U.S., Great Britain and France never would have allowed another nuclear power on the European continent.
2. At the time of the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the former Soviet nuclear arsenal in Ukraine was seen as a major liability for anyone who took possession of it, not a prized asset. These were aged weapons that would require dismantling and disposal, and the Russians did everyone a favor by taking them out of Ukraine. In exchange, Russian was effectively given all the legal and diplomatic privileges that had been held by the Soviet Union (the former Soviet permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, for example) as its de facto "replacement."
It's funny, because as much as people here seem to think conservatives run on facts and logic, almost everything on FR is just emotion and opinion.

They aren’t linked from a geopolitical perspective, but they will be linked together from an American political & financial position.
The Establishment of the United States has to tie Ukraine & Israel funding together because divisions are rising in both parties over both issues.
1) The Republicans are divided over Ukraine but not so much over Israel.
2) The Democrats are divided over Israel but not so much over Ukraine.
Things could go sideways pretty quickly if wrong moves are made.

I understand the sentiment, but disagree with people who want to go to war or defend other people because of the type of government they have.(Democracy, Republic, monarchy, dictatorship, oligarchy, etc)
This mentality is as dumb as going to war over a different or differences in religion.
Modern man is very arrogant & hubristic in his judgement of his ancestors, which is humorous when he’s the same simple minded child that “eats up” propaganda just like his ancestors did.
