This idea that LE was ever some high integrity profession has always left me scratching my head. Probably 50% of them would be criminals if they couldn’t get a job wielding a gun, threatening citizens for pay and great benefits.

I am not sure sovereign immunity applies when there was criminal intent.
An example of sovereign immunity failing is the Nuremberg trials. And overwhelming opposition will trump sovereign immunity every time.

I’m reminded of Spencer Tracy as the judge in the movie Judgment at Nuremberg; one of the defendants was a judge who was not a Nazi and had an exemplery record prior to Hitler’s takeover. He had sentenced a Jewish man to death for violation of a nonsensical law. Tracy told the judge “you forfeited the right to call yourself a judge the minute you knowingly sentenced an innocent man to death”.
Along those lines, I was just thinking that this is turning into an American Dreyfus Affair.

I agree with you. So does History. Did you know that ~90% of police under the Czar stayed on the job when the Bolsheviks seized power, eventually working in the NKVD, rounding up innocent civilians for Stalin, imprisoning them, murdering them.
More people need to wise up to the fact that the great majority of cops will do whatever those paying them tell them to do. No, they're not your friends - especially today.

War crimes trials and laws are a joke. What happened to Germany after WW 1 was a crime, what was done to Germany after the war was already decided was also a crime. WE bombed civilians, killed many, destroyed innocents in anger.
It seems the way the US gets around the War Crimes laws now, is we never declare war.
Our glorious republican representatives saw these a long time ago and did nothing. They are just as guilty and deserve no loyalty from us at all.
