Russia could provide either Iran or Hezbollah, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization based in Lebanon, with air defense capabilities, the U.S. National Security Council warned on Tuesday.
Leaders in Moscow and Tehran have grown increasingly close over the last two years as Russia found itself isolated on a global scale following its invasion of Ukraine. During the war, Iran has provided Russia with hundreds of "kamikaze" drones, known as Shaheds, that they have used primarily to target Ukrainian infrastructure
The latest development in their relationship includes the possibility that Tehran will provide Moscow with ballistic missiles in return for billions of dollars worth of military equipment, including aid to its satellite collection capabilities. The Wagner Group, a Russian paramilitary group that has at times joined Russian forces on the front lines, may provide Hezbollah or Iran with air defense capabilities as directed by Moscow as a part of their partnership.

Ah, the typical hyperbole from FR’s avowed Russianista. Of course, you know that by pretty much every objective standard Russia is rated more corrupt than Ukraine (though not by much). But, facts are like holy water to such Russian vampires as you.
You are well known as the biggest cheerleader for Russia on FR, and someone who has displayed deep disdain for the US. Clearly, your posting history indicates you are more embracing of Russia than the US; and calls into question your allegiance. Which brings us to your screen name. The word “delta” has various meanings, which would suggest the possibility your use of it is not associated with anything related to the US military. However, perhaps it is associated with another nation’s military.
All of which raises the question that has been posed to you before, by various FReepers: If you are currently in the US, why don’t you leave? Since your displayed favor is for Russia, if you are not there already, why don’t you move there? You routinely refer to the Russian president by his pet name Vlad; such familiarity would suggest some level of intimacy, or at least, affection.

In the Vietnam War, did we not lose many aircraft and pilots during our bombing of the North Vietnamese? This was due to Russian anti aircraft SAM missiles, no? I remember hearing that Russian pilots flew for North Vietnam against our planes.

I am quite familiar with the Russian “media,” and its parroting of the Kremlin’s talking points. When I served in the USAF (1970-1974), specifically the USAFSS (which was Air Force Intelligence back in those days), our primary mission was intercepting Soviet communications and intel. We knew what was factual, and what the Soviet toadies with TASS and Pravda (and others) reported: They only reported what the Kremlin told them to report and allowed them to report; and there was very, very little connection between the reality and what the Soviet media “reported.”

No, it’s not: It is only your word that you served the US. You say you were in the 82d AB; but did you serve the US, or some other concern? The reason I ask is if your affection for Russia coincided with your time with the 82d AB, and you were vocal about that affection, your stay with that unit probably would have been brief. Or, did your affection for Russia develop later? In which case, why?

I take the side of the smaller and weaker invaded over the stronger and larger invader, if that invasion was without any acceptable justification (which, in Russia’s case vis-a-vis Ukraine, there was no such acceptable justification). Russia is and always has been a paranoid and insecure bully, and has historically behaved as such. And, like all bullies, it screams FOUL! when its victim has the temerity to fight back.
