During debate on the Senate floor, Senator Ted Kennedy, speaking of the effects of the Act, said, "our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. ... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset."
He was right. We are not flooded with a million annually. We are flooded with TWO to FOUR million annually, most entering illegally, because they were prompted by the 1965 Act.
And every Western country did the same at the same time.
Changed immigration law to allow mass Third World immigration.
I think it was an emergent phenomenon, but it sure did look like a co-ordinated plan.
And when the Republicans held the White House, Senate, and the House the law could have been repealed!
