I’ve made sweet potato casserole almost every year since I was about 21 and I have never once set it on fire or burned the marshmallows.

OK, I sort of set the oven on fire one year. It was a fresh turkey and I wasn’t prepared for how much juice it would produce.

I’ve never prepared family Thanksgiving dinners nor Christmas. I’m a very simple cook and even that’s questionable. Forunatly the rest of the family members did the cooking!

BUT I did ‘once’ try to bake a turkey - nobody said to take out the bag of giblets! So of course the bag melted and ruined the turkey!

I hav a few things I can cook very well but fancy side dishes aren’t one of them.
