“. . . JFK sent the military to enforce integration, protect civil rights protesters.”

JFK mobilized 31,000 troops during the University of Mississippi incident including 20,000 to occupy the campus.

That was the largest invasion of the South since reconstruction; later Disney’s invasion of Florida was larger.

“While deploying the military regularly within the country’s borders would be a departure from tradition...”

It’s more than that as it violates the Constitution. There are only two times the US military can get involved within a state and do what they are designed to do. They can respond to an attack upon persons and property by non-US citizens or they can be invited in by the state to support the Law Enforcement under title orders. So Trump’s hand will be tied unless he is asked by the state or protecting federal property or people on federal land. Common crime is the responsibility of the state. And the only independent fed group that can enter a state to respond to federal needs involving civilians is homeland security getting illegals who are federal criminals under the ICE program.

The ability of Trump supporters rationalizing really bad ideas knows no bounds. This is just another example.

Another poster (not Trump) suggested 12-15 month enlistments. What is the desired objective? It takes much more than a year to train a soldier. Forget about a draft, rich elites have been avoiding the draft since the War of Northern Aggression.

That’s exactly why you wouldn’t use the military. The government created the border crisis and now you want them to use the military to fix it? That’s exactly what they want! And they have weapons you can’t even imagine that could be used against us.

Against foreign invaders inside our country?

Nothing more and nothing less.

“ Depends how bad it gets, if turf wars start crossing state lines this may be a serious possibility. I really think it would be more to boost policing efforts temporarily.”

Didn't AntiFa cross state lines in 2020, flying city to city burning them down while the FBI did nothing?

The National Guard can be involved but not the Military.

I’m not really seeing how the National Guard isn’t merely an extension of “The Military”.

If crimes are committed on military installations by civilians, the UCMJ is in force.

The word ‘civilian’ does not appear in the EO, however the lawyereeze within does.

Prior to 1/20/17, DJT told us he’d drain the Swamp. He didn’t say how, but that was his main purpose from day 1, and it is ongoing. His 4 years was driven by this purpose, including this EO. Not even civilian swamp creatures can escape.

Read the proposed law, NO references to civilians.

If the military isn’t used, militias will become very active and harder to control.

The military has been purged of all folks who would question putting political opponents into ovens, or worse. Thousands just came out in support of war rape and beheading of children. They will be the ones using it against rural America.
The police and fbi have military grade weapons to use against you. Who in their right mind would even consider this.
Just like Covid tyranny, this will be used in the worst imaginable ways.
There is no longer a separation of powers and this would be the building on top of the grave of our freedoms.

When Democrat politicians refuse to turn over illegal alien invaders to Immigration officials, U.S. military bases can serve as turn-in points where civilians can bring the invaders for deportation. The U.S. military can then send the invaders to the farthest corners of the globe.

Oooops, I stand corrected:

The full EO 13825 is 465 pages (the EO itself only about 2).

The word ‘civilian’ appears 105 times in the full document. However, I don’t think that covers fully the issue we are discussing... as lawyer-eeze prevails. I maintain that the USMC was amended for trying the crimes of the Deep State, which permeates the federal govt.

Oh yes, Trump will be very respectful of the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878. Top of mind for him I’m sure. He has shown his great respect for the rule of law and the constitution over and over, after all.

You’re absolutely right about the public. The media does its part, too, to make sure that “inconvenient” facts go down the memory hole.
