Or— most likely... Iowa corn. Corn rising. Yeah, that’s the ticket. Grow more corn to ferment more Ethanol, aka hooch or booze... grain alcohol for fuel additive. To grow the corn, of course the Corn Lobby (remember Bob Dole) advocates importation of foreign oil to make fertilizer to grow the corn to... make the ethanol. And that, they say, is saving energy for the US. Sure thing— the numbers have never added up. At least for a while GWBush was for cellulosic alcohol aka wood alcohol or... methanol. Extremely clean burning, far more than ethanol, and used as fuel in... dragsters. Methanol would be far easier to produce and in greater quantities— but... NO— the Corn Lobby “conservatives” support the price supports built in.
