There was an article in the Fairbanks New-Miner in written by a prof at U of A Fairbanks in 1976 in which he calculated that if a healthy young 175 lb male were to lay down in the tundra in summertime Alaska wearing a T-shirt and jeans it would take the mosquitos approximately 2 hours to relieve him of half of his blood volume. So Shady, you MAY be caught dead there from the skeeters (not to mention the Bott flies, grizzly bears, polar bears, rabid foxes, etc.)
