A new law due to come into effect in California next month will see stores issued with fines if they fail to comply with radical gender ideology.
The law, which comes into effect on January 1, 2024, mandates stores that sell children’s items to have a gender-neutral section.
Details of the “woke” new law are confirmed on a state government website.
The law applies to any company that sells “childcare items” or toys and employs a minimum of 500 employees across store locations.
It requires that they offer a section where “a reasonable selection of the items and toys for children that it sells shall be displayed, regardless of whether they have been traditionally marketed for either girls or for boys,” according to the law’s text.
Stores that do not comply with the law could face a civil penalty.
They face being charged $250 after the first offense.
Stores will then be hit $500 fines for each additional offense.
The text of the law reads:
“Unjustified differences in similar products that are traditionally marketed either for girls or for boys can be more easily identified by the consumer if similar items are displayed closer to one another in one, undivided area of the retail sales floor.
“Keeping similar items that are traditionally marketed either for girls or for boys separated makes it more difficult for the consumer to compare the products and incorrectly implies that their use by one gender is inappropriate.”
California’s Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a slew of bills this year about gender ideology.
One of those bills requires the State Department to create an “LGBTQ cultural competency training” by July 1, 2025.
Another requires the state to create an advisory task force to identify policies to assist LGBTQ students.
Other bills sought to “support LGBTQ+ youth” by forcing schools to allow males into female bathrooms and locker rooms.
“California is proud to have some of the most robust laws in the nation when it comes to protecting and supporting our LGBTQ+ community, and we’re committed to the ongoing work to create safer, more inclusive spaces for all Californians,” Newsom said in a September press release.
“These measures will help protect vulnerable youth, promote acceptance, and create more supportive environments in our schools and communities,” he added.

In a sane world, this law would be immediately struck down because of the vagueness of the word “reasonable”.
But, hey. It’s California. So the law will stand. And LGBTQ activists will be harassing the hell out of these stores. “You filthy bigots! Your selection isn’t near large enough!”
Well, that is a massive problem that Newsom had to deal with, right? Considering he is an expert in economics and has run a number of successful businesses, right?
He knows what is best, right?

But “us” Californians can brag that out kids have “Gender Queer” as a state-approved book in K-12 schools.
Why in the world is this needed? Kids can play with whatever they want already.
Soon California will comprise only illegals, poofters, and unsold EVs.
Malicious compliance. Fill the whole section with Slinkies because they are fun for a girl and a boy.
People leaving that commie state, and this slickster Governor, better leave their lib tendencies right there in CA before the move to a SANE state!
We live in Eastern PA and it was mostly red 10-15 years ago. Now it’s mostly blue due to people that moved in from NJ and NY. Fleeing one area to vote in the same crap in another area shows they’re mentally unstable.

So Barbie and GI Joe must be in the same aisle and the world is saved from its final injustice. Yea!
It easy to comply, just dress GI Joe in a Barbie dress and there you go.
That too but need outdoor games too they do to much in house time as it is.

Badminton, horseshoes, croquet, cornhole, tetherball..................

So the way this reads, stores will just mix girls and boys toys/clothes/etc together, so they aren't "unndivided".
How long 'til this isn't just for children?
When will they start fining stores for not carrying clothes for tall chicks...?
