The California High-Speed Rail has received its biggest boost from the federal government yet, being awarded more than $3 billion in grant funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
The announcement was made Tuesday and was confirmed by California Sen. Alex Padilla and Rep. Nancy Pelosi.

California High Speed Money Sump.
Actually, a good idea. Modify the existing raised rail in the central valley to accomodate bicycle traffic. After all, the high-speed train will never be built, and connections into urban cities like SF and LA will never be built. The existing raised rail after modification to bike trails can be interlinked to light rail in suburbs; that light rail can transport bikes and owners to urban areas.
Oh, also charge a toll on bicycles to use it to cover maintenance. About $150 toll ought to do it.
Prediction: there will be no trains. Ever.
Might a political cynic think labor graft, favoritism, quid pro quos, and all just in time for an election?

With the State of California involved, he might as well have dumped
the money in a big pile and lit it on fire.
“Bipartisan” is doublespeak for UNIPARTY.
Probably about 2/3 of the workers on that fiasco are MIVs (Migrant Invader Vermin), most of that “6 billion” will be flowing across the Rio Grande into Mexico untaxed and untraceable...
The initial project on the ballot, was said to be going to
cost us around $11 billion.
