The United States said it will carry out military flights in Guyana on Thursday in a joint operation as the South American country faces soaring tensions with neighboring Venezuela over a contested oil-rich region.
"In collaboration with the Guyana Defence Force, the U.S. Southern Command will conduct flight operations within Guyana on December 7," the American embassy in Guyana said in a statement, noting the flights are part of "routine engagement" to enhance a security partnership between the two countries.

The Brits were at Tradewinds 23 in July. This is a separate exercise for the US and Guyana. More or less to demonstrate to the communist vermin in Caracas that they’re not so far away that we can’t reach them.

I think you have hit it; IMO, Russia and China are stirring up conflicts around the world to over stretch our military, knowing we have a brain damaged POTUS.
After the Venezuela/Guyana situation gets fired up, look for the turmoil to extend into the USA with internal conflict.
We have wide open border with thousands of military age men coming into the country, we have a Presidential election next year, the Russians and Chinese are not stupid, they know Biden could be voted out next year and the next President might not be so to easy roll over.
If you are Russia and China and you want to make major moves around the world, 2024 is your year to get it done, 2024 could be a very interesting year.
