> Why Are There So Many Mentally Unstable Progressives In Education? <
I’m a retired teacher (I hate the word “educator”). Permit me to weigh in here.
I was a chemistry major. In my freshman science classes there were chemistry majors, biology majors, math majors, etc. The good ones - the hard workers - did well and moved on to the upper level STEM classes.
But what about the ones who were too lazy or too incompetent to even pass the freshman level classes? Well, they changed their majors to education.
And that’s why I strongly believe that university departments of education should be abolished. If you want to teach, say, chemistry on any level first get a degree in chemistry. Then apprentice under a skilled chemistry teacher.
That’s exactly what I did.
When my son was in college, one of his buddies pointed out, “While I’m studying for a Calculus test, our friends that are elementary ed majors are cutting out shapes of construction paper for a project on sensory learning.”
