They probably include the NSA “call home” code as well.
Gee, who would have guessed?
I would walk out if they tried that with me.
Basically they are unknown URLs. It’s the equivalent of just randomly clicking on a link on a rando web site.
Woohoo! Let’s see what happens!
“I hate at some restaurants you have to scan to see a menu”
Me, too. Drives me crazy. I usually won’t go back.
It was all part of the stupid measures to prevent transmission of COVID. Did anybody ever ask “How many lives did QR Code menus save?”
We’ve got a nice, high-end restaurant that hands you a heavy tablet in a leather binder with an electronic menu. It’s full of beautiful videos of the food being served, flaming, or cut. But I’m old-fashioned. Even that is a PITA. How many times do you want to see a steak flambé video?
Just wait until you have to have one tattooed on your forehead.....or right hand...............
I haven’t figured out QR codes yet it’s only been a few years ,LOL
I request a paper menu. If they don’t have one, I’ll go elsewhere.
My phone allows me to choose whether or not to allow QR traching. I don’t allow it. Shut it odd and tell them your phone doesn’t work with it.
Yesterday I went to the Walmart car care center to make an appointment for an oil change. The two ladies at the counter weren’t particularly busy. They asked me if I had an appointment, and I told them I came to make one. They said it would be a few minutes. Then, a few minutes later they told me I HAD to do it online, pointing me to a cardboard display with a giant QR code.
I asked them, “What if I don’t have a phone?” They had no answer. I told them I would take my business elsewhere. I don’t think they particularly cared.
This is because people using their iPhones to pay for items.
I always ask for a paper menu.
Well, it makes it a lot cheaper for them to not have to print new menus every time they chenge their prices. And nowdays that’s almost every other month!
