Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he expects that if former president Donald Trump, the front-runner for the GOP nomination, were to lose the first Republican voting contests, in Iowa and New Hampshire, he won't accept the results.
"He will say it's stolen no matter what. He will try to delegitimize the results. He did that against Ted Cruz in 2016," DeSantis said, referring to Cruz's victory in the Iowa caucuses.
"I don't think there's been a single time he's ever been in competition for something, where he didn't get it, where he has accepted [it]," DeSantis added. "I think that that's to be expected, but I don't think people are gonna buy it."

since Trump is NOT going to lose in iowa or new hampshire, there is no possibility that this “prediction” will be incorrect, hence it’s a total red herring, even though on the surface it sounds like tough talk ... just another example of the typical nonsense spewed by conventional politicians ...
I moved to Florida from Alaska in 2022 when I retired. Florida’s conservative leaning demographics was among one of the many reasons I chose Florida and Desantis really has been a good conservative governor & he fought like Trump. That being said, each step he has made running against Trump has been like him digging another shovel full of dirt out of his political grave. This latest statement that he will refuse to accept results is straight out of DNC talking points...

The one thing Trump values above all else is loyalty. Anyone who hasn’t figured that out is beyond help. And DeSantis stabbed him in the back the first chance he got. Had DeSantis done what you say Trump would have let him have his choice of appointments. But he didn’t.
Trump will neither forget nor forgive that. Neither will Republican primary voters. I know I won’t.

Given President Trump's poll numbers I believe we Trump backers are justifiably heaping scorn and derision on the GOPe DeSantiacs. 😀

For DeSantis to have ever had a shot, he needed to peel off Trump voters with better ideas. I was open to better ideas in the beginning. Instead, his online army came out of the gates bashing Trump and Trump voters. To this day, you really can’t distinguish what his campaign is doing online from any other TDS sufferer. Over time, DeSantis has adopted the same approach in his rhetoric.
Trump has many vulnerabilities, supporters being swayed by more Trump bashing isn’t one of them. They’ve ridden this failing strategy all the way to single digit support.
DeSantis won’t recognize that he is flailing and going nowhere, so there’s that.
With the huge numbers Trump enjoys, he would be a fool to accept a defeat, and should by all means call for an investigation as to electoral honesty.
He sounds like Liz Cheney.
