Nailed it. Ron was a creation. Created for the purpose he is being used for now. Much to his detriment.

One further thought on how campaign election law has created a mess.

For those who know how to play bridge it is similar to the campaign election laws.

In bridge it violates the rules if you communicate with your partner—but if you want to cheat and win you need to figure out a sneaky way to communicate with your partner.

In campaign law the campaign and the political action committees are like bridge partners.

To continue the bridge analogy—well experienced bridge partners can become experts in bridge “conventions” which are ways they can use bids to communicate hidden messages.

Experienced campaigns develop a method of signaling between campaign and political action committees.

They better not get caught though—can be jail time if the scheme fails.

To continue the bridge analogy to the DeSantis campaign:

The DeSantis campaign is like a bridge game that you often see where a husband and wife are partners. The couple is often communicating poorly—a symptom of problems in their marriage that have nothing to do with bridge.

One partner has a hand full of high spades and wants to win the bid in spades. The other partner has a hand full of high diamonds and wants to win the bid in diamonds. If they fight enough then the other team will get to play their hand—or they will keep forcing up the bid until they have overextended themselves.

Any conflict between a campaign and the political action committees tend to escalate very quickly with finger pointing and media leaks.

Worse yet the conflict can cause the partners to lose trust in each other—and remember jail time can be the result if anybody talks to legal authorities.

It can quickly degrade into the gang that couldn’t shoot straight and starts running away in all directions.

i see you finally managed to get a hold of the paid anti-MAGA FR troll’s fake-pro-desantis talking points ... however, you seemed to have accidentally omitted: “trump is ascarit to debate desantis”

DeSantis’s future would’ve been brightest if he had finished his full-term as governor, then taken a very high post in the Trump administration for two years.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s almost like the deep state set up Desantis for this dramatic fall from grace before he had a real shot in 2028.......
Just sayin...
A reappraisal of this article suggests JeffRo might have been wise to double-naught his way off the sinking ship. He cannot possibly afford to be tied into an FEC/DOJ invest into a SuperPac that crossed the bright blue line.
"Under campaign finance rules, the two operations could not privately coordinate most of their spending. But they aimed to function as an integrated whole — built with the candidate’s approval, advised by a single law firm, overseen by a board that included DeSantis confidants and seeded with $82.5 million that DeSantis had raised for his gubernatorial reelection. It was the first time a major campaign ceded so much of its operations to an entity it could not legally control.
On Saturday night, about four hours after this story first published online, Jeff Roe — a key architect of Never Back Down’s strategy — joined a string of departures, announcing he was resigning and further deepening the group’s tumult. He said he “cannot in good conscience stay affiliated with Never Back Down" after the super PAC sent statements to The Washington Post suggesting the group fired officials connected to Roe’s firm over “mismanagement and conduct issues.”
Five other senior officials have left Never Back Down since late November. Three officials with Roe’s firm were fired, and the board chairman and the founding chief executive both resigned, amid internal concerns about legal compliance.
Some described a troubled structure that allowed people close to the governor to shift the major strategic decisions of the super PAC, often over the objections of the group’s staff."
I think you’re right....
The legal issues would likely lead to fines and could possibly keep him out of being able to be a campaign consultant, if there were honest people on the FEC, but since it’s split between dems and republicans, they’ve been voting along party lines, so nothing may happen to him.
This wasn’t subtle collusion and co-operation between desantis and the neverbackdown super pac.
Because the desantis campaign was basically broke, the neverbackdown group were basically hosting events and transporting desantis around to different events, besides doing all the other media stuff.
“neverbackdown group were basically hosting events and transporting desantis around to different events”
The details may matter—but that could be illegal.
Fear of legal consequences may be one reason why key campaign players are running for cover.
Gov DeSantis has gotten such horrible advice all along. It’s been so bad that I suspect the bush/rino cartel intentionally submarined him. Too bad. I thought he was a good guy. He should have endorsed President Trump, but you’d never get that advice from the establishment rino party.
There was no ‘possibly illegal’ in what desantis did.
Read the prior AP news article on the illegal activities that were done by desantis, and the washpo article linked in this ap article to see how everybody was involved.
It’s up to God.
God ordains all leaders.
They will fight him and Him tooth and nail.
And cheat in every way possible.
