Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed a bill making Texas the first state in the union to give law enforcement officers the authority to arrest migrants who illegally enter the state.

Today in Brownsville, I signed three new laws to better protect Texans AND Americans from Biden’s open border policies.Illegal entry into Texas is now a crime subject to removal or imprisonment.
Texas will also fund new wall construction & increase human smuggling penalties.
Wondering how this could not have been state law decades ago.

If the law stands the inevitable challenge from the Biden communists, it is a signal that the ruling class has decided there are enough illegal to accomplish their goals.
It’s already a federal law - but is being ignored:
“The law is similar to a current federal statute under Title 8 of the United States Code 1325, which makes illegal entry into the United States a misdemeanor offense for a first-time offender and a felony for a second offense. Under the current administration, the federal statute is not pursued to any significant degree.”
MILLIONS of illegals later he does this. Why did it take this long? How aggressively will it be enforced? Will the SC stop it?

About 1/2 the stories I read say he is a patriotic Governor. The other 1/2 (like from Michael Yon) is he is a deep state poser who is clandestinely doing everything he can to let them in while keeping his job.
Can they arrest and prosecute the NGOs for conspiracy or aiding and abetting?

I THINK this is a fed-constitutional issue, not certain. But, I think US borders are granted to the feds for control. If this is correct, any state law won’t hold up.
I didn’t think I could hate anyone more than I hate Obama. Biden proved to me that I can hate someone more than that.

I believe these laws make the distinction that controlling the border is the job of FedGov while what happens to the illegals after they arrive in a US state comes under the purview of state law.
Doing what the feds refuse to do.
Abbott is a classic GOP moderate. He is way closer to being Pence than he is Trump. He signed this bill sure but only after millions of illegals invaded Texas forever changing one of the most American states in the country. Typical GOPe. Wait until the house is almost burned to the ground before you call the fire department.
