This part of the operation is just to inflict as much destruction and loss of ANY life as possible. Hamas or civilian. The point is the magnitude, velocity of activity and complete knowledge that Israel will stop WHEN it wants to. It can try to entice the US to join but if the Israeli leadership decided that THIS is the time to justify the beginning of a real counterinsurgency then so be it.
The public images of “trying to miss civilians” or that Hamas is hiding with human shields or the IDF is killing the hostages……. All a mirage. It’s all theater. This was meant to absolutely MAKE THE PALESTINIANS FEAR ISRAEL MORE THAN HAMAS.
It’s the only way. The killing or accidental mortality of every single supporter or passive observer of Hamas will have to decide if their or their family’s lives are worth it.
Because death will follow Hamas to the ends of the world and without an end point. They are DEAD. They know it and the Israelis are going to insure that EVERYBODY in the world knows it.
The only way to defeat an insurgency is to put as much fear into Hamas’ bases, depots, schools and families. It should be a death sentence, a suicide pack that includes your family if you support, join or even agree with Hamas.
And that’s the only way to win and that is the only way to win an insurgency and very few western or democratic governments have the stomach for waging modern war as it is now. The leaders, the “expert” talking heads and most of the public have no clue what is happening and what it means to fight a prolonged counterinsurgency.
I just hope Israel doesn’t facilitate attacks against the US in order to draw us into the abyss
