Apparently Russia’s version of Phalanx doesn’t work so well. Or this ship didn’t have it.
They are indeed shooting down very limited numbers of missiles and drones, as are the Ruskies. What happens when the Houthis/Iranians send a swarm of a thousand missiles and drones against a lone destroyer? Our naval brass is answering that question by letting the Houthis get away with stopping container shipping through the Suez Canal.
