Our country's dark history of persecuting people with HIV [No, not The Bee]
HIVPlusMag ^ | Jan 4, 2024 | HIVPlusMag.com

In 2008, a Black man from Louisiana was charged with a felony for intentional “exposure to AIDS,” despite not having it. Instead, the man was diagnosed with HIV and had been receiving consistent medical care since. In 2010, an HIV-positive protester in Maryland was given five years in prison for second-degree assault because he spit on a police officer. From 2008 to 2013, at least 180 people living with HIV (PLHIV) were arrested or charged under HIV criminalization laws.

I'm still scratching my head about that first convoluted "story." Anyway, enjoy the humor. This could be a Bee article with a (very) little tweaking.

Weird - because when I watch TV, I am bombarded with ads for HIV meds, showing queers cuddling and holding hands, promising low viral loads for their gay sex, and also offering options for free medicine if you can’t afford it.

That’s definitely not persecution

And don’t forget to take the new drugs that make HIV “undetectable”!

Oh, but you don't know how they feeeeeel.

Saying you won't date them because they are HIV-infected might really hurt their feelings.

Utter propaganda, having lived during the time this all came out I can personally testify that the largest wrong committed was our government.
They hide the fact that HIV was most likely to be transmitted within the gay community, the type of sex practiced is most common and likely transmission vector, significantly above normal intercourse.
They also prevented warning the impacted communities, not wanting to “stigmatize” the gay community. This resulted in keep such people in the dark about the real risks. Countless people were infected solely because they were not warned and this was an active choice on part of our governments health administers.

Undetectable does not mean the same as non-transmittable.

"...antiretroviral therapy can virally suppress HIV and prevent individuals from transmitting the virus to others. Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) can reduce the risk of HIV transmission by 99 percent. However, HIV criminalization laws continue to apply, despite any protective measures PLHIV may take."

I have a perfect analogy for this. Let's say you have a handgun, and you know for certain that the gun is NOT loaded, and you point it at someone you just met, and pull the trigger. Did you commit any kind of assaultive offense if the other person freaks out in fear that he is in serious danger? Most people would say a definite "yes."

This is no different. People, no matter how degenerate, deserve to know if they are being exposed, even if the risk is virtually nil.

I always come back to the number of innocent people the transmitters murdered by donating blood, some knowing that they were at high risk for infection.

Now THAT'S persecution.

Whoa, diagnosed with HIV but doesn't have HIV? Does that work with COVID? Homo logic.

The "U = U" studies are absolute baloney. They assume near perfect adherence to drug regimens, which is almost never realized in real life with the irresponsible degenerates. The Hawthorne Effect ensures that those who are under observation in such studies tend to remain on their best behavior, or lie to the researchers when they aren't. Clinical conditions are fictional in real life.

And ask yourself, are you going to take the mere word of a prospective new sex partner at face value at the risk of exposure to a potentially deadly disease? And "undetectable" isn't a permanent, static condition. It can change in a matter of weeks or even days between clinic visits if the infected partner carelessly takes a "drug holiday," or doesn't remember during a drug-fueled "gay" outing.

These viruses have the pesky habit of building up drug resistance if perfect adherence isn't practiced. That can happen between clinic visits. You are only "undetectable" in the moments after a blood test. And that can be a fleeting moment.

“That’s definitely not persecution”

The term persecution is a mistake. It should be prosecution. People with HIV in the past knowingly had sexual relations with people thus spreading the illness that at that time was a death sentence. That is no different than giving them slow acting poison. And since it is on purpose with knowledge of it and targeting the peson they, with full knowledge, had the sex with it is murder one.

No way I am going to soil my browser by going to some site named “HIVPlusMag”.

I never even knew there was such a thing.

HIV positive can still transmit the virus, so those arrests and prosecutions were appropriate.

Sometimes you have to go into enemy territory to know what they are saying and thinking. Occasionally they are unwittingly honest about HIV, since their main clientele are those whose lives are on the line. The “official” narrative is scrapped in such cases.

AIDS is still incurable and fatal if not treated forever with very expensive drug cocktails. Intentionally infecting another person is just slow motion murder. The concept that intentional infection is not a criminal act is just plain stupid. The HIV activists started running decriminalization ads on my local radio station in the last week.

Whoa, diagnosed with HIV but doesn't have HIV? Does that work with COVID? Homo logic.

The lab manufactured COVID bioweapon and mRNA injections contain genetic sequences found in the HIV virus. The consequence is a false HIV positive in persons who do not have HIV. The tests are looking for fragments of RNA/DNA and aren't an infallible diagnostic for an actual active infection.

Since homosexual relations have been tragically primarily responsible for approx. 80% of new HIV cases among men and the majority of almost 800,000 American deaths (though such is not even the decisive reason why homosexual relations are wrong), the tactic is to make those into victims due to laws against infecting others.

Yet guns must be banned according to the same propagandists since they cause death.

But in which racism is used. Black people account for 82% of HIV-related criminal cases in Maryland Which is due to due to culture, not color, and to deny this is racist, since it is motivated by racial bias. In which blame is shifted away from (American) culture to race (see CULTURE, NOT COLOR: Spiritual declension and liberal corruption of the American black family in particular and its correlation to behavioral problems)

While racial bias is also charged as neglecting blacks yet if more testing took place among that community then the following stats would be worse.

In 2016, "Gay and bisexual men continue to be most affected by the HIV epidemic in the U.S. At current rates, 1 in 6 MSM will be diagnosed with HIV in their lifetime, including 1 in 2 black MSM, 1 in 4 Latino MSM, and 1 in 11 white MSM." (https://www.hiv.gov/blog/half-of-black-gay-men-and-a-quarter-of-latino-gay-men-projected-to-be-diagnosed-within-their-lifetime/)
The rate of Black females living with an HIV diagnosis is 17.6 times that of White females. The rate of Hispanic/Latino males living with an HIV diagnosis is 2.5 times that of White males. The rate of Hispanic/Latina females living with an HIV diagnosis is 4.2 times that of White females. (https://aidsvu.org/local-data/united-states)
In 2019, among all Black/African American persons, males accounted for 76% of HIV infections, most of which (82%) were attributed to male-to-male sexual contact. (https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/pdf/library/reports/surveillance/cdc-hiv-surveillance-supplemental-report-vol-26-1.pdf P. 6)
By race/ethnicity, in 2021 Black/African American  individuals accounted for 40% (13,000) of the estimated 32,100 new HIV infections,
Hispanic/Latino  individuals accounted for 29% (9,300) of new HIV infections, and White individuals accounted for 26% (8,200) of new HIV infections.
In 2021, the highest rates of new HIV infections were among Black/African American persons (37.3),
Hispanic/Latino persons (18.9), and persons of multiple races (17.0).
According to CDC, in 2021, Black/African American persons made up approximately 12% of the population of the United States but accounted for 40% of new HIV infections.
White persons made up 61% of the population of the United States but accounted for 26% of new HIV infections, and Hispanic/Latino persons made up 18% of the population of the United States but accounted for 29% of HIV infections.

Black/African American females accounted for 54% of new HIV diagnoses among people assigned female sex at birth. White females aged ≥ 13 years accounted for 23% of diagnoses among people assigned female sex at birth. Hispanic/Latino females aged ≥ 13 years accounted for 18% of diagnoses among people assigned female sex at birth. (https://www.hiv.gov/hiv-basics/overview/data-and-trends/statistics/)

Asian female adults and adolescents had the largest percentage (93%) of diagnoses of HIV infection attributed to heterosexual contact, followed by Black/African American (91%), and Hispanic/Latino (87%) female adults and adolescents. In 2019, Black/African American children made up approximately 14% of the population of children but accounted for 57% of diagnoses of HIV infection among children.
